The course

The Black is the championship course among five at New York's Bethpage State Park, a municipal layout open to the public yet built to test the very best. It hosted the US Open in 2002 and 2009, the PGA Championship in 2019, and the Ryder Cup in 2025. A sign at the first tee famously warns that the course is recommended only for highly skilled golfers.

Signature hole: The par-4 15th climbs sharply uphill to a green guarded by deep bunkers, long regarded as the course's most demanding two-shotter.
