Hazeltine National Golf Course

A Robert Trent Jones Sr. course.

The course

Hazeltine National sits on rolling farmland southwest of Minneapolis, a Robert Trent Jones design opened in 1962 and later refined for championship play. It has hosted two U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, and the 2016 Ryder Cup, when the United States reclaimed the cup on home soil. The layout is known for its length, its movement across the land, and the holes that run alongside Lake Hazeltine.

Signature hole: The par-4 16th plays around the edge of Lake Hazeltine, with the water guarding the left side all the way to a green set hard against the shoreline.
