Toledo, OH
A Donald Ross course.
The course
A Donald Ross design in Toledo, Inverness Club opened its championship course in 1919 and has hosted four U.S. Opens and two PGA Championships. Its tightly bunkered greens and demanding short par fours have produced some of the major game's most dramatic finishes. Recent restorations by Andrew Green have returned much of Ross's original character to the layout.
Signature hole: The short par-four 18th, a 358-yard finishing hole ringed by deep bunkers, where Bob Tway holed out from greenside sand to win the 1986 PGA Championship.
