Southern Hills Country Club

The course

Designed by Perry Maxwell and opened in 1936, Southern Hills sits on rolling Oklahoma terrain shaped by Bermuda fairways and small, well-defended greens. The club has hosted five PGA Championships and three U.S. Opens, and a 2019 restoration by Gil Hanse returned Maxwell's original contours. It is scheduled to host the PGA Championship again in 2032.

Signature hole: The par-4 18th climbs uphill to a green guarded by a creek and a steep slope, a closing test that has decided several major championships.
