The course

Laid out by A.W. Tillinghast in 1923, Winged Foot's West Course sits in the wooded suburbs of Westchester County and has staged the US Open six times, most recently in 2020. Its narrow fairways, severe greens, and demanding finishing stretch have long made it one of championship golf's sternest tests.

Signature hole: The par-4 18th, a long uphill dogleg guarded by deep bunkers and a sloping green, has decided several US Opens including the playoff finishes of 1929 and 1974.
